R.C. College of Education, Dhanot, P.O. Adhwani, Teh. Jawalamukhi Distt. Kangra (H.P.) has come into existence with the efforts of R. C. Shiksha Samiti Dhanot and the courtesy of Himachal Pradesh Govt., H.P. University Shimla, NCTE Jaipur and H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala. This College is one of the oldest B.Ed. College in the area (successfully completed 8 sessions). The College introduced Teaching of B.Ed. Course in the year 2003 - 2004 with an annual intake of 60 students in B.Ed. in all the three streams (Medical, Non - Medical and Arts/Commerce).

Academics

The duration of the B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education Course) shall be of two academic years. The pass marks in each course shall be 40% and 45% in aggregate. The successful candidates shall be classified in three divisions. 1st Division: Those who obtain 60% or more of aggregate marks 2nd Division: Those who obtain 50% or more but less than 60% or aggregate marks.
The admission to the course will be made on the basis of merit. The merit list is prepared on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the H.P.B.O.S.E. Dharamshala. The maximum marks for the paper will be 100 (70 Marks for theory plus 15 marks for assignments plus 15 marks for internal assessment in the Foundation as well as Pedagogical Courses and 50 Marks for theory plus 50 marks for internal assessment). The duration of the J.B.T. (Junior Basic Training) shall be of two years.
Every year student teachers are sent for teaching practice to different schools. The school internship Programme is divided into three (3) stages: first stage for 1 month (4 weeks) duration for orientation programme and second stage for 4 months (16 weeks) duration for teaching practice in schools related to their teaching subjects and at last third stage for final teaching practice which is assessed by external examiners.
Leave for absence from the college shall be applied for and obtained in advance. In case of long illness & absence from examination due to illness the leave application must be accompanied with the medical certificate from Govt. hospital. Leave up to three days will be granted by the tutor & for more than this by the Principal on the recommendation of the tutor.
